Who am I: Use of Sandtray, Play & Focusing to Examine Our Own Culture, December 11, 2021-In Person

3 HOUR  Workshop: Friday,December 11, 2021 10:00AM–1:15PM Limited to 5 participants

One 15 minute break will not be counted toward the 3 CEs awarded.

As our communities become more diverse, therapists need to be comfortable exploring our own culture and its effect of our work. The goal of this training is to use the modalities of sandtray, puppetry and focusing  to create a brave space where participants are able to reflect on her or his own culture-defined as a “a broad multidimensional concept that includes ethnicity, race, gender, social class, sexual orientation and so on.”  The training is highly experiential:  each person will use focusing, create an individual sandtray, play with puppets and discuss both the content and the process.  As a group we will engage in a conversation relating our own culture to our work as play and talk therapists.
