WORK TOWARD BECOMING A REGISTERED PLAY THERAPIST
When parents are integrated into their children’s treatment, play therapy is faster, more efficient and has a deeper impact. Integrating parents deepens the family buy in and expands therapy into the home setting by teaching parents some essential skills. This workshop explores three models that have been used for decades to successfully treat children in the family context: Family Play Therapy, Therapy (™) and Filial Therapy. Essential skills from each of the three models will be taught. Case presentations will highlight how the models can be incorporated with Non-directive play therapy and with each other to address complex problems.
